WELCOME!

Welcome to the Central Valley Homeschoolers blog. We've created this blog to help homeschoolers stay connected, and as a place to announce upcoming field trips or other activities. If you would like to host an event or organize an activity, we would love to hear from you. Feel free to email us and we'll be sure to post all events as they are brought to our attention. We will also be posting activities that might interest the homeschooling community. If you are aware of any events that you haven't seen mentioned here, please let us know and we'll be sure to post it. Keep us bookmarked us and check back often. All our events are also listed on Facebook in the Annapolis Valley Homeschoolers group. Comments and suggestions are always welcome!

"I live in Nova Scotia, Canada.  In 2010, my first YA novel, "Bitter, Sweet" was shortlisted for The Geoffrey Bilson Award for Historical Fiction for Young People and made the 2011 Best Books for Kids & Teens list.  I also write short fiction for adults.  My work has appeared in numerous literary magazines and several anthologies.  My short story, "Alexander the Great" was nominated for the Journey Prize."

She is going to do a reading for us from her latest book, "Flying With A Broken Wing" and then having a question and answer period.  She has asked that we come armed with questions for her!

There is limited space and we will need you to RSVP by the 9th with number of people attending.  Emailing the homeschool email will need a name of family and # of family members going to be listed on the facebook event so numbers can be generated.

A snow day has been arranged for the 23rd of January if need be.
