WELCOME!

Welcome to the Central Valley Homeschoolers blog. We've created this blog to help homeschoolers stay connected, and as a place to announce upcoming field trips or other activities. If you would like to host an event or organize an activity, we would love to hear from you. Feel free to email us and we'll be sure to post all events as they are brought to our attention. We will also be posting activities that might interest the homeschooling community. If you are aware of any events that you haven't seen mentioned here, please let us know and we'll be sure to post it. Keep us bookmarked us and check back often. All our events are also listed on Facebook in the Annapolis Valley Homeschoolers group. Comments and suggestions are always welcome!

Curriculum Night & Second Hand Sale

Lake Echo Fellowship Baptist Church Tuesday, April 19, 7:00 p.m. Come share ideas and encouragement! Homeschoolers realize the benefit of second hand sales! It is a way to pass on well-loved books and curriculum that our families have outgrown, as well as a way to pick up curriculum we need at prices much lower than buying new. There will be two opportunities to buy and sell your curriculum this year: at the HEMS Curriculum Night on April 19th and at the 2011 HEMS Homeschool Conference & Resource Fair on June 10-11. During the conference, the sale will be held on Friday evening and so it will not conflict with speakers or workshops. Both sales will be run as a yard sale. Each seller will be responsible for selling their own material and handling their cash flow. The cost for a full 6 foot table is $10 and a half table is $5. If you don't think you have enough materials to fill your space, buddy up and share space – the cost is the same. We will accommodate as many as we can, but space is limited! To reserve your table send a cheque payable to Krista Ortiz to: Krista Ortiz 125 Hampton Green Dartmouth, NS B2V 2A8 Include your name, contact information, table size and which event/s you would like to register for. All registrations are due by the 31st of March. If you have any questions, you can check out the HEMS website http://www.hems-ns.ca/ or email Krista at kbortiz@hotmail.com
