Every year the HEMS Curriculum & Resource
Conference grows and changes to meet the needs of home education community.
This can only be done with a community effort. Please consider stepping up to
fill one of these important roles in the putting together of the conference.
Youth Entrepreneur Coordinator
- Communicates with and organizes youth via email
- Collect funds for table space
- Works with vendor hall coordinator (Merriam Nixon)
in set up of youth venue
Transportation
- Responsible for pick up and return of some tables
and equipment
- Works with vendor hall coordinator (Merriam Nixon)
Mompreneur (more details to follow in near future)
- A new idea I have, to have a space for Home
Educating, Entrepreneurial parents to showcase their (small or not) business
for a small rental fee. Communicates with and organizes interested parties via
email.

None of these are enormous jobs, but each person willing to put a few
hours and ideas into making our Curriculum & Resource Conference an
exciting event is so welcome.

Dear Vendor/ Extra Curricular Resource
Representative/ Post-Secondary Instituion,
Please be advised of a change in Venue for the HEMS
2013 Curriculum & Resource Conference.
The new location will be the Stone
Ridge Church, 85 Temple Terr. Sackville, NS B4E 1S4

The date and timings will remain the
same- Set up is available Friday afternoon from 1 pm to
4 pm. The vendor hall will be open Friday from 5 pm – 7 pm and Saturday from
8:30 am to 4 pm. ,. The vendor area is on the second
floor, and will be available by both staircase and elevator.
For vendors and information resources who wish to
attend, we rent tables (6' x 3') for $25 CDN each. Space is reserved on a first
come first served basis. Confirmation of your booking will be forwarded to you
when payment is received. This year, we have provided an online registration via our website www.hems-ns.ca/2013_conference/vendor_registration . If you are unable to register online, cheques or
money orders should be sent to me and made payable to Stephanie Jackson. All
payments must be made in Canadian currency.
Every vendor who reserves space at our Conference
is invited to write a half-page product review article which we will include
without charge in our April/May newsletter. The goal of these articles is to
give our members advance notice of new or special products they will want to
make a point of seeing at the Conference. Please forward your article to contactus@hems-ns.ca.
The registration deadline for this year's
conference is March 15th, 2013.

Dear Post-Secondary Institution,
Due to an enthusiastic response by both families
and post-secondary institutions alike, the HEMS 2013 Curriculum & Resource
Conference has scheduled a round table workshop devoted to this purpose. This would be an opportunity to
give an overview of what your institution has to offer the home educated youth,
and what best prepares these young people to meet the post-secondary world.
There will be a Q & A component the discussion, as well.
If you are interested in participating in this
workshop at this June 15th, 2013 event at the Stone Ridge Church, in
