WELCOME!

Welcome to the Central Valley Homeschoolers blog. We've created this blog to help homeschoolers stay connected, and as a place to announce upcoming field trips or other activities. If you would like to host an event or organize an activity, we would love to hear from you. Feel free to email us and we'll be sure to post all events as they are brought to our attention. We will also be posting activities that might interest the homeschooling community. If you are aware of any events that you haven't seen mentioned here, please let us know and we'll be sure to post it. Keep us bookmarked us and check back often. All our events are also listed on Facebook in the Annapolis Valley Homeschoolers group. Comments and suggestions are always welcome!

First annual HomeSchool Expo / Open House

Saturday, May 4, 2013, 10:00-2:00
Berwick Fire Department, 300 Commercial Street, Berwick

This event is intended to be an opportunity for fellowship and sharing with each other, our families/friends, and the community. Each family is encouraged to share some thing(s) they learned during this school year.

Some ideas include:
Static displays (e.g. lapbooks, science fair projects, research projects, artwork, crafts, math work, a favourite test or essay, history project, poetry / short story / novel, photography ...),
Demonstrations (e.g. music, dramatic reading, historical reenactment, dance, debate, speech, song / reading / dialogue in a second language ...), ...
The options are endless!

This is not a competition. This is an exciting time for the kids (and parents) to share with each other and be encouraged / inspired. We'll all get new ideas for next year! And those who don't homeschool will get an idea of what we do.

This event will be further discussed at the next parent meeting: Thursday, February 7, 2013 (7:00-9:00pm) at Maureen MacInnis' home (8089 Highway 10, Nictaux South). All welcome!
